I have spoken with hundreds and hundreds of parents since 2020, and affordable childcare has near unanimous support.

Gender relations in the U.S. are broken. This is how I think we can go about fixing it.

This is the most important speech I've ever given.

Congrats to @hmc.edu's class of 2025!

You’re telling me this is a better use of state funds than child care and paid family leave? 🤔

I had the honor of addressing Miami Dade College's grads — about a third of whom are non-native English speakers and almost 60% are the first in their families to graduate from college.

As the daughter of refugees, I thought it was important to remind this year’s grads what makes America great.

Good.

Also, remember when the Trump White House reportedly received a proposal to reserve 30% of Fulbright scholarships for people who are married or have kids? (A form of DEI if you asked me…)

You can't pick and choose when you want a meritocracy.

HERE’S THE THING: Women aren’t having fewer children because we’re confused about our bodies or waiting on a gold star. We’re having fewer children because this country makes parenting nearly impossible to afford — or survive.

Great question today from Justice Jackson! The Justice asked whether under the same argument in Mahmoud v Taylor parents could opt their kid out of a class taught by a gay teacher if they have a photo from their same-sex wedding displayed on their desk (the lawyer said the same rules would apply).

Want America to have more babies?

It's pretty simple: Get moms the structural supports we've been asking for all along.
April 21, 2025 at 10:01 PM
Well it ain't rocket science, folks.

If you want Americans to have more babies, there’s two logical places to start.

1. Lower the cost of child care.
2. Pass paid family leave.

“The government is asserting a right to stash away residents of this country in foreign prisons without the semblance of due process that is the foundation of our constitutional order."

“I had to ask for help for the people of Michigan." -Governor Gretchen Whitmer

I spoke with Governor Whitmer on Monday and she told me about her decision to meet with President Trump to discuss the devastating ice storms in Northern Michigan.
