Is revision always necessary? Not for Jim Harrison:

"I wrote Legends of the Fall in nine days and when I re-read it, I only had to change one word. There was no revision process. None. I had thought so much about the character that writing the book was like taking dictation."

My first book is finally live on Amazon! It's been a tough, but rewarding journey. Thanks to all for the encouragement along the way.
Here's the full wraparound cover with art by the talented @kimberlybrown.bsky.social
(Hopefully, the art shows up.)

Yesterday was the 50th anniversary of the release of "Jaws." We streamed the movie last night, and it had a special introduction by Spielberg.
After 50 years, it's still one of the finest examples of pure cinema.

“To actually be a writer, you have to be willing to be a different kind of person — maybe only slightly so, but still different from how you are right now.”

If you were going to publish a modern version of the 1982 bestseller "Real Men Don’t Eat Quiche" by Bruce Feirstein, what would you title it?

Finally made contact with the "Tree of Life" at Dolly Sods Wilderness. It figures in a story I'm writing, so I felt it was time to meet.

Dogwoods in bloom. The sky was blue—though not quite the vivid azure I remember from spring hikes with my dog, Vinnie. He was by my side for so many years it's hard to recall a spring without him.
But still, spring has arrived. Spring is resolute. And Vinnie will always be part of it.

Anyone read this?
Is it true to the character’s sword & sorcery roots, or something else?

"Above all, do not lose your desire to walk. Everyday, I walk myself into a state of well-being and walk away from every illness. I have walked myself into my best thoughts, and I know of no thought so burdensome that one cannot walk away from it.”
