The shutdown may be over, but the Republican health care crisis continues. Without ACA tax credits, premiums for 28,000 of my constituents are skyrocketing to double or even triple what they were. I’m still fighting to cancel the cuts and save affordable health care. www.nbcnews.com/health/healt...
What the government shutdown's end means for Obamacare subsidies
Open enrollment is well underway, and people who get their insurance through the Affordable Care Act have seen how much their costs will rise without the tax credits.

Trump ran on “fixing the economy,” but his tariff taxes and broken promises are hitting Nevada families, workers, and small businesses hard. When people pay more, they travel less – and our entire state struggles. #TrumpSlump
What’s Wrong With Las Vegas?
As prices skyrocket and international travel declines, the city finds itself caught in a perfect storm.

This is all part of the #TrumpSlump. Trump’s reckless tariffs are hitting Nevada hard – driving up prices and squeezing everyday families. He promised to fix the economy, but now Nevadans are paying the price. Don’t believe me? Swipe for the receipts.

World Diabetes Day is a perfect time to remember– that health care isn’t a luxury –, it’s essential.
104,000 Nevadans stand to lose their health insurance right now from Republican cuts, many of whom NEED their coverage to afford insulin and other life-saving medications.

I joined Catholic Charities’ Meals on Wheels team to help deliver meals to homebound seniors across Las Vegas and North Las Vegas. 🍲
At a time when so many are struggling to make ends meet, no one in the richest country in the world should have to worry about going hungry.

Health care has been at the center of the #RepublicanShutdown since Day One. I’m about to vote NO on the Senate Republican proposal to temporarily fund government while doing nothing to assure working Nevadans that they will have access to affordable health care going forward.

The House has the power to act — and this fight isn’t over. It’s time to stand up for affordable health care for everyone. @SpeakerJohnson, do your job and vote for the American people.

Don’t let premium increases catch you off guard!
If you get your health insurance through the ACA Marketplace, now’s the time to review your coverage.
✅ Update your info
✅ Choose your plan by Dec. 15
✅ Double-check auto pay before Dec. 31
✅ Revisit by Jan. 15 to see if rates have changed

Nevada families can’t afford this. Without the extension of vital-tax credit enhancements health-insurance premiums for marketplace plans in Nevada are set to spike – some models predict a 25% average increase in 2026. Hard-working Nevadans deserve stable, affordable coverage not a loaded dice game.

I’ve been sounding the alarm for months – it continues.
The Trump Slump is hitting Las Vegas hard:

Nevada’s economy can’t afford this decline in jobs and visitors.
Las Vegas tourism down again in September with Strip revenue falling 5.5%
Las Vegas tourism again lagged behind 2024 in September, this time welcoming around 300,000 fewer visitors largely due to “slower midweek volumes,” according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors…

When food benefits stop, it’s not numbers – it’s neighbors. It’s the mom in North Las Vegas wondering how to stretch groceries one more week. It’s the child going to bed hungry because Congress can’t get its act together. Nevadans deserve better.

~ 500,000 Nevadans could lose access to food assistance because of the GOP’s Big Ugly Bill.

Families shouldn’t have to wonder how they’ll put food on the table.

The Republican Shutdown is about one thing: health care.
While premiums are set to skyrocket on Nov. 1, Republicans are on vacation. Democrats are fighting to end this shutdown and protect affordable care.

Republicans are twisting the truth. The Advanced Premium Tax Credit isn’t a “subsidy,” it’s a tax credit that uses our tax code to help working families. But Republicans are fine giving tax breaks to billionaires while blocking relief for everyday Americans.

If you’ve seen the House GOP, please let Congress know — because they’re nowhere to be found.
While millions are at risk of losing their health care, they’ve gone missing.

Health care costs are already crushing families and Republicans want to make it worse. Instead of working with Democrats to lower prices, they’re driving them higher. Working people can’t afford this cruelty.
