Congresswoman representing New Mexico’s 1st Congressional District. Fighting for our future. Working to build a better world. Trail runner & chile connoisseur. ❤️🌶️
From visiting one of my favorite places—the Bernalillo Feed Store (Frank’s!)—to joining the Bernalillo Historical Society and Mayor Torres at the Community Museum to talk about the history of the town, to talking policy with State Senator Cindy Nava, a day spent in Bernalillo is a day well spent! ❤️💛

TIME IS UP—WE NEED A HEALTHCARE PLAN, NOW.

Why is the GOP not scheduling a vote in the House THIS WEEK?? The lives of millions of Americans are on the line. This is literally life or death.

We wanted to kick off the week by sharing some the joyful moments from the naturalization ceremony we attended last week.

Your stories are forever woven into the fabric of our country, our communities, and what it means to be New Mexican and American—and we are grateful you are here! 🇺🇸✨

In NM, service is a way of life, and generations of families have worn the uniform. We are working to meet the needs of our veterans, so every veteran can thrive.

Grateful to appear before the Veterans Affairs Committee yesterday to talk about this commitment to service, right before leaving DC. 💙

Friends—the clock is ticking. There’s no more time for “concepts of a plan.” It’s time to extend ACA health subsidies before millions lose their healthcare. We’re ready to get a fix across the finish line. Are you?

No community should be forced to bear the weight of a system that profits from human suffering.

Private, for-profit prisons have no place in a fair and free democracy—and especially profiting off the suffering of an inhumane and undemocratic detention system.

Period.

It’s time to ban Congressional stock trading, now!

The American people deserve elected officials who unequivocally represent them, not their stock portfolios.

55 years ago, Cesar Chavez was jailed for refusing to end a boycott on farms that used union-busting tactics on migrant farm workers.

Today, our Latino and migrant communities are again facing discrimination, harassment, and violence. I am working to ensure our home is a safe place for everyone. ❤️

As the Trump Administration and GOP are trying to dismantle the Department of Education—we stand with our schools, our students, and our teachers!

Department of Ed was born out of the Civil Rights Movement and is as important as ever. We stand with every public school and kid across America! ✊

As I get on a plane this morning to head back to DC—it’s been such a joyful weekend back home giving thanks with family and friends. It’s been an absolutely gorgeous fall—and I wanted to share a few of the moments I’ve been so grateful to experience the last few months. 🌻🍁🦋🌈

And, we honor the continued work to uphold Tribal sovereignty, protect sacred lands and waters, and ensure every Indigenous community has a seat at the table.

Today and every day, as we celebrate the last day of #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth, we honor the Indigenous communities who have shaped New Mexico and our country for countless generations.

Being home this week—it is truly joyful to be reminded how vibrant, compassionate, and connected our community is.

Happy Thanksgiving, New Mexico! Every day, but especially today as the sun is setting on this Thanksgiving day, I am so very thankful for all of you.

I hope you had a wonderful day with loved ones and doing all the things that bring you joy and nourish your soul! ❤️

This year, as part of our week of thanks, we volunteered at @animalhumanenm.bsky.social. In times like these, it’s so important to do things that give back and bring joy!

These furry constituents are looking for their forever homes. Thank you, Animal Humane NM, for loving them in the meantime. 🐾❤️

Friends, help protect Chaco Canyon! Here’s what you can do:

- Call your members of Congress and urge them to sign onto the Chaco Cultural Heritage Area Protection Act!
- Call the Department of the Interior at 202-208-3100 and the White House at 202-456-1111 and tell them to protect Chaco Canyon!

Every day, our work for NM-01 is to continue to show up and set our minds and hearts to the work ahead. It was an honor to share this space with you this morning!

We must lean into HOPE! Thank you to the First Unitarian Church of Albuquerque inviting me to your speaker series to share our message of hope and the work ahead to ensure that every person has access to food, housing, healthcare, opportunity, and dignity.

Chaco Canyon is sacred ground. That is why we are fighting to protect this place and ask the American people for their help!

So, Congress is on fire 🔥 (or at least the subway) which seems like such a metaphor for the week doesn’t it? ⬇️

And yet, he indicated he did—and then the White House defended it.

This is not ok.

Is this America First? Taking away the rights of American Tribal Nations and communities—to prioritize the profits of foreign mining companies?

Here’s what our friends across the aisle had to say. ⬇️
