The federal shutdown is hurting our neighbors. Starting Nov. 1, more than 2 million Pennsylvanians could lose access to SNAP benefits, threatening food security for families and seniors.

This isn’t politics, it’s people’s lives. My office is here to help.

No one should face fear or intimidation when seeking care. HB 670, my state-level FACE Act, protects access to reproductive healthcare in PA—because these rights are human rights.
Anti-abortion extremists from across the country are traveling to Pennsylvania to target our patients & physicians:

Thank you @repmcclinton.com for sharing the Speaker’s rostrum during yesterday’s session. Always an honor to serve as Speaker Pro Tempore & help guide meaningful work in the PA House.

PA’s housing crisis demands action—aging infrastructure, rising costs, and too few affordable options. That’s why I helped launch the first-ever bipartisan Housing Caucus to advance commonsense solutions for families across the Commonwealth.

House Dems passed real transit funding—sustainable, recurring, no new taxes, and $600M for roads/bridges. Senate Rs blocked it. Thanks to Gov. Shapiro & PennDOT, PRT got a $106.7M stopgap to avoid cuts & fare hikes, but without long-term funding, riders stay at risk.
September 29, 2025 at 7:03 PM
🧵(1/4) I’m relieved that Pittsburgh Regional Transit will avoid devastating service cuts and fare hikes in the near term. No one should lose their bus to work, a ride to school, or a connection to medical care because of a budget impasse.

Today we remember the lives lost on 9/11 and honor the first responders, firefighters, and service members who ran toward danger to keep us safe.

Too many still face broken systems when they need care. We must do better—for our first responders, and for one another.

Having a seat at the table isn’t a privilege—it’s a right. I’m proud to support the Advanced Practice RNs at Magee-Womens Hospital as they join their RN colleagues in unionizing for quality care, safe staffing, and fair pay.

Congratulations to the nurses at UPMC Magee-Women's Hospital and @seiuhcpa.org on winning your union! Proud to stand in solidarity with you as you fight for better care for every patient.

I look forward to @upmc.com's cooperation and immediate recognition of this union without delay.

Grateful to @cityandstatepa for the chance to talk about the work I’m doing to expand housing access, uplift communities, and fight for a more equitable PA.

A Q&A with state Rep. Lindsay Powell
Powell talked with City & State about several bills she has sponsored to increase access to housing and improve quality of life in Pennsylvania communities.

Try handing in a project 24 days late at your job. See how that goes. As of today, that's exactly how late Senate Republicans are with the state budget... no regard for the deadline yet still collecting a paycheck.

The PA House just passed our bill to fund home repairs for low-income homeowners, including seniors and folks with disabilities—building on the success of the Whole Home Repairs program. Over 18,000 applicants are still waiting.

Next stop: the Senate.

Had the joy of meeting Sam—a kind & hilarious kid whose family found support at the Children’s Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center. From medical care to foster & adoption services, they’re a lifeline for families. I’ll keep fighting for the resources they deserve.

Lawrenceville, I’m ready! Come dunk yours truly this Saturday at @reppowell.com's Family Fair! I’ll be in the tank from 2:10–2:40 pm. It’s not every day you get a chance like this, don’t miss it!

If UPMC can afford to pay their retired CEO $12 million a year, they can afford to adequately staff their hospitals and ensure women get the care they need.

I stand with Magee nurses in their fight to unionize. They aren't just standing up for themselves—they are standing up for their patients.

Nearly 1,000 registered nurses and advanced practice professionals at one of Pittsburgh’s largest labor and delivery centers are launching a union push this week, citing concerns about staffing and quality of patient care.

I stand in solidarity with workers at Allegheny Reproductive Health Center!

When reproductive rights are under constant attack, the strongest way to protect this care is by standing up for the people who provide it.

The signs say it all: support Pennsylvania workers and stand up for labor rights.

Donald Trump is targeting the NLRB. At a time when union busters hold power at the top, we don’t have time to waste. This May Day, and every day, we must stand with Pennsylvania workers.

Thank you, Rep. Chris Deluzio, for securing $50,000 in federal funding to be used to modernize Reserve Township’s municipal government. With new technology & equipment, Reserve’s small but mighty staff can better serve our neighbors. triblive.com/local/50k-in...

In this post-Roe era, the chaotic mix of laws, politics, and control over our bodies has become a dangerous mess—one that’s costing people their rights, and in some cases, their lives. We must remain committed to the fight for reproductive freedom. It's fight for all.

A Black man using his voice to defend democracy, where a segregationist once used his to block civil rights.

Senator Cory Booker has just made history, breaking Strom Thurmond’s record for the longest filibuster in Senate history.

Pennsylvania is setting the standard for ethical AI in state government. Under @governorshapiro.bsky.social’s leadership, we’re improving the efficiency of operations while ensuring workers remain central to our progress. I'm proud to support responsible, people-first innovation.

Pennsylvania is in a housing crisis—impacting cities & small towns alike. That’s why we launched the Housing Caucus: a bipartisan (and soon-to-be bicameral!) group fighting for zoning reform & dignified housing access. It’s time to open doors for every Pennsylvanian🏡

Pittsburgh Regional Transit is facing a crisis—without $117M from state funding, we’re looking at devastating service cuts. For seniors, workers & people with disabilities, transit isn’t optional—it’s a lifeline. Harrisburg must step up, but I won’t stop fighting.

From mental health initiatives in schools to AI regulation, reproductive justice, and more—the next generation isn’t waiting to lead.

Last week, I got to sit down with some of these inspiring young leaders and celebrate their work. I can tell the future is in good hands.
