Reminded me that I missed RAM prices skyrocketing just as GPU prices came down. This March I built a new PC for the first time in... jeez, eight years??? And apparently RAM is up like 3x since then. arstechnica.com/gadgets/2025...
GPU prices are coming to earth just as RAM costs shoot into the stratosphere
Some RAM kits are over three times as expensive as they were three months ago.

Did you get to the Snocaps album yet this week? Man, is Katie Crutchfield on a heater...

Saint Cloud -> Plains -> Tigers Blood -> Snocaps is a pretty great couple albums with side projects in between.

"I have a decent fluency in LLMs, and they have utility, but the absurd degree of over-hype, the way they're being forced on everyone, and the insistence on ignoring the many valid critiques about them make it very difficult to focus on legitimate uses where they might add value."

The studio version is fascinating to me, in that it was always clear that "it's visceral" was a line you were going to hold on to when you play it live. Interesting that it's not on the album version. (And, btw, who else is capable of making "visceral" the focal point of a song's climax?)

The Tiny Desk version is pretty great as well. Always interesting to look at beginning vs. end of tour performances... www.youtube.com/watch?v=ps1f...

What DHS pulled in Chicago on Tuesday is wildly unconstitutional. They smashed down almost every door in the building, dragged entire families into the street, and detained people for hours ("Kavanaugh stops").

Ms. Fisher was held for five hours and another senior citizen was held for three hours.

/3 ….among the leadership, the elite. It requires someone to push back against populist scorn for civilization.

When we lose the critical mass of leaders who support civilization, and when other leaders are too weak to fight, we get barbarism.

Between Taxi and It's Always Sunny, Danny DeVito has a pretty great case
