@nigelherbig.bsky.social is there any plan to finish 68th Ave bike infrastructure? It's very awkward at 522. It's great if you're going north from Juanita and turning W onto 175th, fine if you're turning E onto 175th, but confusing to cross 522. Should be easier for bikes to enter our downtown!

Wowza, love the timing. As the quiet whispers of an AI bubble start to become a roar, why not add AI to your portfolio now? This is why I don't use a financial advisor.

Disagree! We moved our whole house from Calgary to Seattle in 3 trips towing with our Ioniq 5. We would probably tow our tent trailer longer distances more if we had something like a Silverado/Sierra EV and could both charge fast and make it 150+ miles between stops, and we'd save a lot on hotels.

God I love NIMBYs on Facebook who complain about kids on e-bikes. This fine specimen doesn't understand that right of way applies to cycle traffic and thinks she should be able to make a left turn from a stop sign onto a street with no stop sign without yielding to traffic on that street.

Solar in the PNW: our new 12kW array at 9am in September, covered with dew and shaded by a bigleaf maple, is already producing 1kW, fully covering our baseline usage and charging our battery right now. #solar #energysky

Congrats! It's an amazing car that's taken us from the Canadian Rockies to Malibu and a lot more in between.

Fully loaded makes hardly any difference for efficiency, but towing sure does. Pop-up trailers are great for EV towing!

What the hell? I logged into Facebook today and noticed that apparently my account has been following JD Vance since January 20. I have no other recorded activity that day on Facebook. It's also very weird that I would not have noticed JD Vance posts until today.

I love BEVs but we decided it was cheaper to get two used plug-in hybrids.

Happened upon a Slate truck on display yesterday in Salt Lake City. It's remarkably attractive, and this prototype actually has a battery and is drivable, apparently. The frunk is also huge. Still feels like a niche market vehicle but let's see.

Island Transit on Whidbey has a rule that pets can ride "in a small carrier or container" but there's no limit on the size of dog. We've joked that we could make it to my parents' house by bus if we just put our 80lb dog in a small bag.

The degree to which Jeremy Armitage is a real guy never ceases to amaze me.

This version from the senate keeps the text from the house that allows credits through the end of the year. Can't tell if this is the current version.

It's also a bit difficult to figure out what data went into this chart.
June 18, 2025 at 3:32 PM
I mean this chart. It's a bit of a problem that it's based on government efficiency tests that don't accurately capture Tesla efficiency well.
June 18, 2025 at 3:27 PM
Somehow some of the Tesla ratings don't pass the eye test, like 100% on energy consumption.

A few teens on e-bikes and e-motorcycles on stroads in the suburbs are probably doing more for bike safety than I ever did exclusively bike commuting for ten years. I paid in blood and they're only paying in wheelies.

These closing lines from @niedermeyer.online's book, Ludicrous, aged remarkably well.

Did your editor remove an explanation of the 130-day limit on special government employees? That detail is suspiciously absent and seems highly revelant to the timing.

The patriotism is a thing to see. I thought this "go local" sign at Safeway was a deceptive ploy. But it turns out that Canadian Safeway is in fact owned by a Canadian corporation. Would never have known that otherwise.
