@nigelherbig.bsky.social is there any plan to finish 68th Ave bike infrastructure? It's very awkward at 522. It's great if you're going north from Juanita and turning W onto 175th, fine if you're turning E onto 175th, but confusing to cross 522. Should be easier for bikes to enter our downtown!

"[M]y son and I stopped at this place where they had a bunch of bears. It was almost infested with bears; it was kind of gross. This person literally drove through the grass, through the bears, and cut off the other cars and was behind me following me out."

What?

Spit On, Sworn At, and Undeterred: What It’s Like to Own a Cybertruck
“We were the targets.” WIRED spoke to seven Tesla Cybertruck owners about their most controversial purchase and why they’re proud to drive it.

It's imperative to maintain a physical CD and DVD collection, or at least ripped copies on multiple drives. Media streaming has jumped the shark. You're going to forget the music you loved in the last ten years if you rely on Spotify to remember for you.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

The car industry got #Musked and got a real mess.
Not going to lie, I’m not convinced the tesla-style NACS port is as big of a game changer as we think it is.

Native access to the supercharger network is nice, I guess, but I don’t know if real EV drivers will use it outside of one-off roadtrips.

Tesla’s NACS Plug Should've Fixed EV Charging. Here’s What We Got Instead
EVs with Tesla-style ports are all the rage. But access to the Supercharger network didn’t really move the needle for me.

This is a ... uh ... weird fit of a concept in a country where all white people are descended from immigrants. Did they think this one through?
The official government account for DHS appears to be run by far-right trolls deliberately trying to provoke a response by using a term openly associated with ethnic cleansing. They will attack anyone who points this out and express faux outrage at the suggestion. They know what they are doing.

Wowza, love the timing. As the quiet whispers of an AI bubble start to become a roar, why not add AI to your portfolio now? This is why I don't use a financial advisor.

Last week Jesse Watters spoke to man named Eric who claimed he was formerly a member of antifa. Two years ago Watters interviewed Ramon "Mundo" Mendoza, a former Mexican Mafia member. Some folks thought the men looked similar. This is a side by side comparison. 🤷‍♀️

God I love NIMBYs on Facebook who complain about kids on e-bikes. This fine specimen doesn't understand that right of way applies to cycle traffic and thinks she should be able to make a left turn from a stop sign onto a street with no stop sign without yielding to traffic on that street.

@niedermeyer.online this sure sounds like Musk sleeping on the factory floor. Did these two bozos learn it from him or do they come by bad leadership naturally?
The director and deputy director of the FBI flying across the country to oversee an investigation into a single murder is very weird.

What will they do? Why both of them, as opposed to one overseeing it? What valuable skills do these two in particular bring? Aren't there other crimes happening too?

I realized today that a lot overconfidence in LLMs is a form of epistemic trespassing. LLMs are pretty good at minor coding help, and that's often the only domain people who write LLMs are experts in. So of course some software engineers will assume that "vibe physics" has some nonzero value.

There is a crime problem: after BLM protests, police unions went on crypto-strike. Most police didn't know how to make the changes being asked so instead they just stopped doing parts of the job. Anecdotally, enforcement of low-level crimes (reckless driving, property crimes, etc.) has fallen off.

So basically Ford is doing the same thing as Slate, with cells licensed from CATL, in hopes of building a Trump-proof line of cars? It seems like Ford has done a good job of anticipating the challenges of 2025 and on but let's see if this product line actually lives up to these big dreams.
