You could technically classify a small bruise as "internal bleeding", if you're half as bad faith as this admin.

My favorite is "well maybe you shouldn't have been crying wolf all this time" like the people we were warning about aren't THE EXACT PEOPLE DOING THIS NOW.

"Women are too emotional. Anyway, let me explain how allowing all of your thoughts and actions to be driven by ignorant fear is quite masculine."

I, a republican president, would obviously never implement policy created by the Heritage Foundation.

I don't think eschewing any shred of intellectual honesty is arguing with "civility", even if your tone is polite-ish
September 13, 2025 at 7:47 PM
Why do they keep trying to appeal to delusional people? No matter how much they bend to the right, they was always be radical leftists to them lol

My first encounter with him was in Dexter, so I still find him somewhat unsettling lol. I think he was good in that, though it's been quite a while since I've seen it.

I think it has more to do with critical thinking lol. As a white straight cis man, the republicans are also directly harming me, but not as severely as more disadvantaged groups. They're harming most of their supporters as well, they are just willfully ignorant or too dense to understand that.

Presumable the same reason they chose Merrick Garland; to preserve the status quo. Trump doesn't have the same excuse and there are mountains of evidence pointing toward his close personal relationship with Epstein.

Lol imagine them not simply reversing or reinstating their decisions when convenient. Weren't they fine with nation-wide injunctions under Biden?

The theory I've seen is that they may be more susceptible to crime fearbaiting/tough on crime narratives

I mean that would be everybody's goal, right? In any perception of a "sensible" society, one would be a conservative, as they would want to preserve that ideal status quo. Most sensible people advocate for change as means to a goal, not for the sake of change.

We need to do this more. The right insists their most insane beliefs are "centrist", and you see normies adopt them believing that lie. We should literally just call all left wing positions centrist instead of recoiling at the label lol

They don't have any fundamental values beyond the ingroup/outgroup distinction. Corruption is irrelevant; it's just that any potential vulnerability in the outgroup must be exploited, and any potential vulnerability must be defended. It's why "corrupt/cruel/lawless" aren't effective, but "weird" is.

No, they are republicans. We should stop trying to let the otgers off the hook. The entire party is enabling this; those that aren't are a small minority. Even Cheney engaged in the conspiratorial rhetoric before she grew a smidge of a spine.

Well yes they are kidding you in that this is a satire account. But also, no, they're not as in that is essentially how the Federalist Society functions
April 17, 2025 at 5:54 PM
typically that would be a lower-case 'd'
April 17, 2025 at 1:21 PM
We need to stop doing this thing where we just assume the shittyness of Republicans. It gives them a free pass. Any *politicain* [...] should have no future in elected office.
April 15, 2025 at 8:34 PM
This is why I'm confused when people talk about his "political instincts". Like, his "political instincts" are literally just shamelessness lmao

Hey that's not fair; he only recently learned what groceries even are!
