with the rocm/pytorch stuff working, the AMD 8060S with 96GB VRAM is pretty awesome, current job is on a big model and using 69GB, cruising along. the cpu cores are bored :)

took a few tries and some scripting but I can now cross-compile to windows dynamic build and start it from WSL and have it run on Windows :)

I took today off one thing I got to do is finally hack on a personal project to split some midi files up into lead sheets semi-automatically. The left side is my go renderer, right side is lilypond of the same input lol. also this is using sixel to render the images in my terminal :)

lmao wow some folks are big mad about the chrome metaphor. it all comes full circle. I was an early user of netscape & lynx on linux, and then mozilla and then ff, khtml, etc. up to chrome and edge and all the lil browsers in between so it's pretty weird having it all explained to me 🤣

I picked up a Lawler Model 1 trombone this week and I love it 💕 easy pianissimo in the high range and can take every bit of sound I can pour into it without distorting. kinda hard to make a cutting lead jazz sound, but that's fine with me, I can just play louder 😁

hmm if it is tampered with, it's sloppy af work or this is just meant to be tape and got beat up in shipping. it's probably nothing but the other box was just folded closed. it was definitely open at some point. also probably shipping error. sigh. I miss simpler times

oh wow. bitwig studio on linux is really nice! everything just works and it has native pipewire support :)
