🎁 Today is Day 1 of 12 Days of Democracy 🎁

Every day, we will be opening a present and revealing one good reason to support a fairer voting system.

Let's see what we've got today - and stay tuned for more!

Thank you for sharing. Another reason for not supporting that business. Another local business will raise to the top. 👍🏼
I still surprise my husband occasionally by saying 'no, we can't go there/buy that. They're brexiters.' Latest was Gail's, and of course it now turns out Luke Jonson is also anti-net zero and anti-lockdown. Same little nexus of right-wing views.

Their lies come crumbling down when confronted with the truth.

Reform accepted £9 million from a former Boris Johnson backer & crypto-multimillionaire.

Today, Nigel Farage postures as a righteous defender of the same democracy he actively undermines.

Democracy should never be for sale. It's time for a cap on political donations.

Laws bent for the rich.

Wages taxed at marginal rates of 20% – 45% plus national insurance contributions (NIC).

Capital gains taxed at 18% to 32%, no NIC .

Dividends taxed at 8.75% to 39.35%, no NIC.

Return on wealth must not be taxed at lower rates.
Nothing will change until the political system is freed from the clutches of corporations and the super-rich
The law is being used to enforce existing power structures for the benefit of the few

If we're talking about bias, why do BBC politics programmes, from Politics Live to the Laura Kuennsberg Show, still always begin with a look at the newspaper front pages, which are overwhelmingly biased in one direction. Helps frame the entire news agenda and debate in their favour

So either Labour need to ask candidates to step aside for the Greens to take on Reform....

Or actually bring in a fair democratic process where everyone's votes count equally.

It's time for Proportional Representation.
