This is one of my to many duties in this life. The name Ren Cerebral is an anagram of both of my grandfathers names & when I use it, I think about my lineage & trying to aspire to a more divine masculinity than they could ever achieve while laughing in the face of the patriarchy which wounds us all.

My father is better than most but like most men, he still carries aspirations of the patriarchy in his bones. And so I think it's funny that me being his freak deviant child strikes such a resemblance while acting a force of pure destruction to the remaining aspects of patriarchy he buys into.

The failure of a body to function is not a small thing. It isn't our fault. Being a cyborg can only get you so far when the infrastructure of your society is crumbling around you. I hope more of us can begin to honor this reality while disabled people continue to drop like flies in the coming years.

I'm sharing this because sometimes I think that non-disabled people (including leftists) enjoy flattening their perception of what disability is so that they can dictate to others how they should be showing up in community. We are so often pitted against one another.

The only other option I'm given than the ones I've attempted are to "call 911" as the phone service suggests. I am not going to call emergency services when all I need is tubing and a silicone mask! Paramedics or cops cannot solve that fucking problem!

I used to have a respiratory therapist come to my home every other month with supplies in hand and the ability to order new ones for expedited shipment on the spot. Now I get a phone call and if I miss the call or need anything unprompted, I have to go through a robot who decides how important it is
