Danzig’s second album made the 1990 tournament, same w/Living Colour.

This is going to hurt my bracket. 😩

It's still early, the pendulum could swing (and there's always the "EPs aren't albums" crowd). Fugazi is a band I admire more than I like outside of a few songs.

Pretty sure Kent will no longer be alive by then. 😂

Speaking of 2001, I finally listened to the Gotan Project album and it's pretty cool!

This will be the worst discourse of all time.

Haven’t heard it but I’ll take your word for it (though in these tournaments, name recognition does go a long way…).

I think something that many of us have a difficult time with (myself included!) is how much you separate the art from the artist. a lot of great art has been made by shitty people

I don’t enjoy book clubs, but I’d love to lead a discussion of this book, which tackles this issue in a thoughtful way
When art you love was made by 'Monsters': A critic lays out the 'Fan's Dilemma'
Do geniuses get a "hall pass" for their behavior? Or, do we "cancel" the art of artists who've done "monstrous" things? That's the question Claire Dederer tackles in her new book.

I'm so sorry Nanette - maybe the info about Ian Brown led to a last minute upset? And there goes my bracket...

Probably a lot of musicians with questionable worldviews or actions in one way or another (hoping a certain creep doesn’t make it into 2001…). Not the B-52’s though, even if I voted SR.

Also worth noting: I'm a dues paying member of the @nywfp.bsky.social - AND I'm also a registered Democrat. You can do both! That means I still vote in Democratic primaries - which is CRITICAL in NYC, because that's where many elections get decided.
