Autistic humans don’t exist to make your systems look inclusive or make you look affirming.

If access dies when it’s inconvenient, it’s not access - it’s PR.

Build the ramp, captions, quiet room, predictable schedule - listen to ALL our NEEDS - or stop calling it inclusion.

"Autism is real"
We’re still living in the shadow of that history.

It’s not some part of a distant path.

They’ve just changed the language.

It’s still about stereotypes and productivity.

It’s still about white supremacy.

And I refuse to forget that fact.

100%

ADHD is a sort of energy monster in my case: I used to have very little sleep and functioned perfectly well.

Then I became a parent and my body and brain collapsed into exhaustion.

That was when the autism really showed itself.
When a Person has both Autism & ADHD (colloquially known as AuDHD) the ADHD tends to mask the Autistic traits … often until much later in life.

Explain your @

I didn't want to use my name because there are people in real life I'd rather steer clear of.

FLAWS is Forty-Something Autistic Working (class) Socialist.

I'll probably change it at some point: I always grow to dislike these things.

I wanted Gordo but I was too slow so had to settle for this. Thank you for reading my exciting origin story xx
Explain your @.

I am Rosie, short for Rosamund. Is not very exciting.

Although I am named after Henry II's mistress, Rosamund Clifford, because my mum is a nerd so there's that.

The neurotypical habit of reading condescension into neurodiverse wording. That's actually a 'you' problem. Le sigh

I can definitely accept that I did poorly on an assignment. I see the feedback and I understand and can adjust. Waters tested so to speak as I really am out of my element.

What i can't accept is the clear judgement from this professor because videos are watched at a greater speed.

Despite the stereotypes, late identified autistic folx can be the life of the party.

How so?

Because it’s the only way to make the awkward forced social settings bearable.

It’s exhausting to be sure, but less anxiety ridden than being the wallflower.

Until it’s not.

Crash.

This is Pepe, and my newest terrarium build. Isn't this glass piece awesome. I couldn't wait to use it.

In it is a type of maiden hair fern, nerve plant, and a calathea.

Can anyone recall this indy movie?

Likely black and white. Perhaps filmed in TO, Can. Features an office employee i believe. A bit wild haired. A coworker. Drugs. He is absolutely losing his mind.

And the quote "if a fish rots from the head down"

Is it common for autistic folk to be lip readers naturally? I have such a hard time understanding what people are saying if I can't see their lips

One thing I have taken away from this Healthcare ceo shooting, is that American health insurance companies don't believe in hope.
