On this day in 1989, R.E.M. played the Macon Coliseum in Bill and Mike’s former hometown of Macon, Georgia, the official end of the Green World Tour. The concert was filmed for Tourfilm. Brief footage from the show appeared in the release.

On this day in 1982, R.E.M.'s 𝐶ℎ𝑟𝑜𝑛𝑖𝑐 𝑇𝑜𝑤𝑛 EP was released in the U.S. at a bargain $5.98. The five songs included: 'Wolves, Lower', 'Gardening at Night', 'Carnival of Sorts (Boxcars)', '1,000,000' and 'Stumble'. Bill explained the choice of title: "A 'chronic town' is a city in the state of mind."
