I just don't understand why no one is listening. We are like the folks who did not see Columbus' ships approaching (although that tale was later debunked as a myth). Chris once replied to someone on Twitter asking for advice saying "move away from the coast." What more can we do to prepare?

Thanks to Smith the fires destroyed Jasper and now with her list of demands she would strike a match to the rest of the province. Burn baby burn.

Danielle Smith backed out of the agreement to provide aid to Alberta residents in Jasper?! Her inability to control oil and gas carbon emissions in this province contributed to the climate crisis that caused these fires. Horrifying.

I looked for Prof. Carter's details on Bluesky but can't find him? I do get his posts on Twitter but and doing what I can to avoid that site.

I tried to find Stewart Lee on BlueSky (which is where I read this article) but he is not listed. Send everyone your BlueSky details? Like many I am doing my best to cancel Twitter.

I love your work, not sure if you are familiar with Nate Hagens? His latest interview with Dougald Hine was exceptional. I feel I have a better understanding of the limits of science in our polycrisis: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpUb...

It costs $100,000/yr to house one of my criminal clients in a remand centre vs. $30,000/ to given them low income housing. We prefer to warehouse these largely alcohol addicted people in jails. But this system employs plenty of sheriffs and probation officers and court staff.

Just one foot of sea level rise would claw back 100 feet of land and destroy the port in this photo. That one foot will arrive sooner than 2070. The International Thwaites Glacier Collaboration gave us 3-5 years on the Thwaites headwall back in 2021. Things are not looking good.

I say these same things to my friends and their only reply is that, "they have been saying this for years." I reply that the ITGC warned us in 2021, we have 3-5 years to prepare. I'm horrified that the true urgency was lost in that message. Merci pour ces postes!

I was enormously proud to be introduced to this fellow Canadian. Thanks for all your efforts in trying to guide us through this unfolding crisis.

Please ask Kris van Steenbergen (and Larry) to join Blue Sky? He is the only reason I keep a Twitter account, and I would like to delete Twitter.

And Tiny Homes - how about we make our properties more communal instead of just massive houses with vacant space? Still working on local counsel to even consider this option.

Rain water barrels - get your neighbours used to using them and hopefully they will add more (incentives from Town to buy rain water barrels). Public gardens, seed libraries, repair cafes. Walking paths to grocery stores encourage people to walk or bike and feel safe.

Circular economy, not growth economy. In my own life I try to understand circular options, what can I raise or produce that is circular? Harvesting rain water, hatching and raising quails for eggs and meat. Leaving my lawn grow tall and scything my own hay for rabbits. Compost, mulch. Circular
