That could be me. The 4 to 5 star jump happens when a book is really extraordinary, memorable, one of 2 or 3 that year I'll remember in detail. A 4 star book is always a good read, but doesn't take me some place special.

Mine is graduating this Spring. She works in a campus lab doing bio research on cancer. Not a single graduating undergrad has a job in the field. One was desperate to get a sales job - he'll be selling surfboards. 🙄

I personally know of several who have been let go; none of which for poor performance, all of them related to being chosen for promotions or conversions with mandatory probation periods. They were identified as high-performing employees and punished as a result. Many serving 10+ years. Senseless.
