I don’t think it has ever been challenged in court, but if the pardons are the result of a crime, it may be that they are invalid in the same way regular Americans technically can’t profit from crime. Perhaps you’d have to challenge it at the receivers’ end and not the President?

If it were truly solely about ability to care for children,men would be forcefully sterilized just as often (or more often, given the ease of vasectomies). Given how permanent this is, it is a violation of human rights to leave this decision in the hands of a judge, 3/4

Secondly, we don’t sterilize able-bodied people for being unable to care for children, despite that being far more common. Lastly, sterilization is almost entirely used on women, despite the serious side effects and potential complications. 2/4
