I've started playing crusader kings 3 and I'm watching my evenings just evaporate into nothing while trying to unify Ireland. Maybe one day I'll be able to manage a larger kingdom before spectacularly going down in flames.

In 2025, I became a father, shouldered major responsibility at my place of work, wrapped up a D&D campaign with friends new and old that had been going on for 8+ years, and battled health issues. It's also been a year where I've felt the loneliest, and the most cut off from friends.

We wrapped up a D&D campaign that had been going on and off for 8 years. Pure magic. I love this game and the group of friends that make this game special. We'll be trying Draw Steel and Daggerheart in the new year. Looking forward to more magic moments with ttrpgs.

Award season is when we make a competition out of people just making really good art and hate other people for enjoying one piece of art more than another because our art is the artier art. Because bringing the toxic part of sports culture is what video games REALLY needed.

Genuinely question for those that have played nier automata: when does it turn from a decent and quirky action game to the stuff people are raving about? What ending does that happen at? I'm in playthrough 2 and it really hasn't blown my mind yet.

Watched Daryl Talks Games latest backlog video and that kicked off my own quest to track down those "Man..." games. (Games that leave an impact on you in some way.) It caused me to pick back up Neir automata, and I'm seeking out recommendations for other games I "need" to play.

Played a bit of the open playtest of Kirby airriders and I'm kinda feeling... underwhelmed? Like, this feels very much like a remake of the first game instead of a propper sequel. What i played isn't bad, but it doesn't feel "new."

One of the D&D campaigns that has been going on and off again for almost a decade is finally ending and it's a real bittersweet moment. Glad our DM finally gets to wrap up this story, but man am I going to miss inhabiting this character's head.

Had friends from out of state over for the weekend and we played 3 different TTRPGs. It was 13 hours of ttrpgs and it was freaking amazing. Love this group. Find a group of weirdos that is into what you are into and never let them go.

D&D pro tip: if you are knowledgeable of a fantasy property that you know no one else at the table is into, you can just steal names from that for your NPCs. No one at my table plays Magic the Gathering, so I can just pull Niv Mizzet from thin air as a name for a wizard.

Why the heck do men's bathrooms, on average, not have a baby changing station? I would like to take care of my child. Women aren't the only parent that change diapers.

Just finished the demo for Alabaster Dawn. dang, what an impression. Secured a day one purchase for me and became one of my most anticipated games of next year.

We're in the golden days of action rpgs with Diablo, last epoch, path of exile, grim dawn, and now titen quest 2 all major games out right now. Not to mention a number of great indie offerings like the slormancer and Into the Necrovale. I'm eating really good right now.
