Here were the main points of reference (among many) for the details. I was mainly excited to experiment with visual devices in West/Central miniature that I hadn't been able to do for my previous graphic novel: the disregard for spatial dimension, architectural frames, and animation-like repeats.

The illo is based on an idea of Alex going round standing in front of portraits in museums/galleries, but the vision of him together with a desecrated Alexander Mosaic (covered in slogans pertinent to my millennial-zillennial troubles) really stood out to me as the webcomic grew clearer over time

I am finally getting to use elements of miniature that I didn't get to use much during TCM, like the architectural model panels and characters moving in this spatially-freeform way on the canvas. >3c
