A retrogaming channel produced by @peteprodge.com , looking back at the good, bad and ugly in arcade and computer/console games.
By following you acknowledge Chaos is the greatest game ever made on any system.
Ooh, Dundee (I'm guessing, given your game creation history)!
Yeah, that is quite a trek, as I know! There should be one in Dundee given the city's connection to Speccy manufacturing.

Aside from his YouTube channel, James King's only current presence on social media has now been scaled down to X, having eliminated BlueSky, Mastodon and Facebook from yesterday.

I wonder if @jk2447.bsky.social would like to comment on the huge discrepancy on his retrogaming YouTube channel's subscriber growth and the actual hours watched. It does seem like a 'bought audience', if you know what I mean.

Over to you, James, if you'd like to tell us what's going on.

Some Your Sinclair cover artwork was pretty good, so I picked one at random to 'replace' the game's original inlay. Um, well, this one wasn't a good example, I think the original wins out.

Can anyone help?
Bartop arcades - I'd like to get one (Arcade Geeks seem to have good options). But how can I edit the games collection on them? Do any of them run on a Raspberry Pi and memory card? Or similar?

There are a number of ZX Spectrum games rated 95%-99% by games magazines. Less than 100, and I've catalogued them all here...

Then you have the late and unlamented ZX Computing giving the 5/5 mark to...

...Jack And The Beanstalk.

Yes, really.

Following on from a look at the Spectrum magazines that flung out "10/10" ratings in questionable circumstances, I delved into the "5/5" ratings. Again, Sinclair User is flinging them out... at things like Jail Break and Molecule Man!

Why was Sinclair User so heavily generous with its '10/10' ratings compared to all the other ZX Spectrum mags? I've done some research...

I was in Norwich yesterday. Here's a quick report on the commercially unviable retrogaming bar, Barcadia.

"I never claimed to write Steve Davis Snooker, I claimed to have written a hack for 128k machines but don't let that confuse the issue. Its also not all one sided as a moderator on AA went and edited my own posts to make me look bad and then banned me."

I'm in London today. And what does this place have in common with the ZX Spectrum? It's crap, but no longer in a funky skillo sort of way.

Nostalgia Nerd's retro-arcade bar in Norwich city centre, Barcadia, was closed for "a smol revamp" shortly after New Year's Day, with a view to reopening for the weekend of 18th January.
The strange thing is, many many weeks later, the venue is still closed. What's going on?

Ah, the arse end of the #ZXSpectrum meant things like this:

"GAMES SOLD AS BLANKS. IF YOU GET A FAULTY ONE USE THE TAPE AS A BLANK."
