Don’t bust the crust.
When the cranes leave
and the snow melts
too early, too meager,
I wonder how it came to be that despite so many thousands of songs about love
I still must struggle to invent a version of it myself.

Looking back over Riley (Bookworm) Hart’s photos from last May has me frothing at the mouth for more big semi technical desert trips.

Ok listen, having actually walked the average daily travel distances suggested by the 5e core rules (24-30 mile days for many days in a row), be assure you that I WILL put my characters in low-chafe clothing. Happy to suspend disbelief for big swords tho 👍

me: remember how last time you wrote a longer piece you came to really resent your habit of using a double-line space between paragraphs instead of a paragraph indent, and then you had to go fix everything?
self: yeah
me: so are you going to indent that?
self: double line space no indent

From a DM’s perspective my life is excellent. We meet 3 times a month on average and our monk hasn’t figured out how to destroy my encounters with stunning strike yet.

I know I’m dumb because it took me a decade to realize that waking up every single day with a smoldering resentment of existence is not actually how it’s supposed to be.

It weird how some days the flowers all bloom at once: I get surprisingly good news, I hear back from an old contact I thought lost, a package is delivered early. It’s a small shock, not intellectually, but as if my body had forgotten the small delights, only to suddenly remember the taste of sugar.

I want to wake up one day and have my executive dysfunction be audible somehow. My boss would be like ‘dear god what is that horrific screeching and burning sound?’ and I’d be drooling at my desk like normal like ‘what sound?’
