You can't make this up. Trump has pardoned a Las Vegas politician convicted last year of using money meant for a statue honoring a slain police officer on personal costs, including plastic surgery. www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-p...

Trump’s first 100 days have been the most consequential of any president this century & perhaps since FDR. Trump is leading a revolutionary project that aspires to remake the economy, the bureaucracy, culture & foreign policy, even the idea of America itself. www.economist.com/leaders/2025...

America’s presidency is often called the hardest job in the world. Yet Trump has found time to moonlight as a prolific social-media influencer. Since January 20th he has churned out 4,149 words a week on Truth Social and X, nearly a newspaper op-ed daily.

“We are all afraid” Ms Murkowski said speaking at a conference in Anchorage. After a long pause, she acknowledged: “It’s quite a statement. But we are in a time & a place where I certainly have not been here before. I’ll tell you retaliation is real & that's not right

Trump is trying to fiddle with economic data & removing the independence of the Fed. A case is making its way through the courts could make it easier for Trump to do the latter. Bad timing for a cloud to sit over the institution responsible for fighting inflation.

Are you curious about what #Trump is up to? It turns out he is #golfing. Lots of it—he has spent 25% of his time in office so far golfing. And spending millions of our dollars to do that, and playing on his courses and booking the money! Follow along at

I loved watching RepSteven Horsford (D-Nevada) grill Jamieson Greer, Trump's Trade Representative, about trade tariffs. He was boldly speaking truth to power. You don't have the S&P 500 surge 8.5% in 34 minutes every day. It does make one wonder about market manipulation.

A new, sweeping round of tariffs shocked Wall Street on Thursday, as upended economic forecasts & intensified worries about global growth sent stock markets tumbling to their worst day since the height of the coronavirus pandemic. The S&P 500 fell almost 5% its worst showing since June 2020.

France is mired in a deep political crisis & its plight holds lessons. The country’s traditional parties are fragmented, it can't get its budget under control, an aging population, growing threats to national security & crass & obstructive politics. Sound familiar?

Javier Milei has been president of Argentina for a year. He campaigned wielding a chainsaw. His economic program is serious & one of the most radical doses of free-market medicine. The left detests him & the Trumpian right adores him but he truly belongs to neither.

Here is some T-day advice if you plan to enjoy a large holiday meal! Going on a "f**t walk" after eating can be good for your health — Walking after a meal gets your bowels moving, which can reduce bloating & acid reflux — just mind who may be walking behind you. Enjoy!

Since everyone is preparing the big meal in the kitchen, it might be a good time to sneak in a reminder about norovirus & handwashing. (hint, hint!) It's pretty simple. Norovirus is a very contagious virus that causes vomiting & diarrhea. Prevent it by good handwashing! Easy-peasy!

A story of hope. A miracle is happening in the middle of LA, for birders & nature lovers. What happens when you allow the Earth to heal herself from abuses of the past. The least Bell’s vireo, a riparian species native to So Cal & on endangered list >40 yrs returns. The tiny bird’s symbolizes hope.
