Yes and…if we did wait for our destruction to be overcome once again by nature, it may not be soon enough to ensure our own destruction is avoided…paradox and dilemma…

Big fan of leasing / co-ownership of any asset that isn’t needed all the time or isn’t needed in the long term!

Your bio says “dad” so I’m a little surprised by your lack of awareness on this. Newborn phase: an accurate by the ounce, scale is needed to ensure babies with struggle gaining weight are managed properly.

I took a detour between LA and San Francisco the other day and happened upon these massive solar fields, with bare earth beneath them. Thought: what could we plant beneath them that would thrive?

How could you “reframe” the work to be “aligned” to the new administrations goals and rhetoric whilst furthering the mission?

So if it took millions of years to create that carbon sink, and we emit it, then we need to recapture and store it in a way that mimics the length it took to create it. Otherwise there’ll always be more carbon in the atmosphere than in the sink & we’ll be perpetually storing it to remain balanced.

My initial reaction to this was “um no!” But trading the post I actually agree wholeheartedly with this mindset. A balanced counter-process to how extract and use the carbon from fossil fuels needs to match the timeline it took to create it in the first place.

I’m curious at what level one declares a bioregional border though…surely the lines are not clear cut enough? Everything is interwoven.

If we’re moving towards a relationship with earth’s natural life-supporting systems that involves balance and stewardship then the idea of “bioregional borders” makes a lot of sense.
