Senate Republicans just handed David Bragdon a LIFETIME judicial appointment— a man who compared abortion to murder and said women "must face the consequences" for their "poor judgment."

Republicans are stacking the courts with anti-choice extremists and hoping you don't notice.

Trump's supporters say we call his policies "racist" too casually.

But let me tell the story of a new policy - about to be unveiled - that is racist on its face.

1/ A short thread on Trump's reported new "whites only" refugee policy. It's truly vile.

I remember how the West Wing gave me some peace and hope during the George W. Bush presidency. These days, even the George W. Bush presidency would give me peace.
I’ve started watching the West Wing again because I need to watch some functional government.

So I assume that MAGA billionaires are ok losing millions or billions due to tariffs imposed by their dear leader Trump—but god forbid they should lose even a dime in taxes to help pay for housing, healthcare, food for people in need…and medical research, education, safe transportation, etc., etc….

Oh, yes, we need to take care of our police — except the ones who protected Congress on January 6, 2021.

“Dole Out?” Seriously, @nytimes.com, why use this headline and thus lessen the value for the recipients of this important honor? Why not just say “award”?

I love this idea — especially because I imagine it’s going to be very tough to be a Dem in Congress for the next two years (hopefully not four — and assuming loss of the House this year). This could add purpose and focus beyond trying to stop horrible legislation as the minority party.
Really compelling idea from @wileynickelnc.

He suggests that Democratic leadership appoint a “shadow cabinet” - members of Congress assigned as watchdogs for each cabinet agency, offering clear counterpoints for the Admin’s actions.

The Brits do this. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...
Opinion | What should Democrats do now? Form a shadow cabinet.
The venerable British institution of the opposition would serve America well today.
