It was a joy to steer and shape this report. You will find a foreword in it from me, reflecting on the deep social and economic traditions of commons thinking that foreground it.
Our new landscape review examines the foundations of participatory and inclusive data stewardship.

The review demonstrates the liveliness of debate around ‘data stewardship’ and aims to support future research and practice.

A very different but important perspective in my view. In my experience online can be incredibly engaging and participatory, if we can get the design right. It can also be more inclusive.
Institutions reverting to in-person-only events are reinstating pre-COVID exclusion. Knowledge-sharing events must include an online option, at the very least, to allow people in the Global South to hear and contest what is being said about them. Do better. #AcademicSky

I want a cooperative university that we run. Fair and transparent pay and governance, non-hierarchical and inclusive, dedicated investment in teaching and local community, purpose-driven and functional. We need a new vision grounded in reality.
