Former(ish) Film & digital projectionist.
Cinema Haunter.
I will talk at you about running 35s at length if you let me.

My cure for The Bleakness™: make something with your hands.
It helps, I promise.
Plus it often spirals (in a nice way) into other creative projects. Can't make things this cute and NOT take photos. Tiny outfits for tiny frogs WOULD be cute -- time to make tiny outfits.

Not Udo! He always added that something special, that beautiful weirdness to a movie. Rest in Peace. 💔

It's finally finished! Behold my version of the Step-By-Step Cardigan from designer Handmade By Florence. Incredibly warm and has a really nice weight to it. Plus I got to use vintage buttons from my collection.
Pattern is a free one if you're looking for a project.

What is the internet for if not to post pics of frogs!
A teeny tiny gray tree frog! Pretty smart one too since it's camped out on the composter in my in-laws garden.

Kinda put this on hold for a while (or about 7 months or so) but my unintentional tv static cardigan has 2 sleeves now! Just have to knit up the trim around the neck & button band, block it, weave in the ends and it'll be ready for winter.

Finished just in time for today! I'm really proud of how this turned out!

Used an unfinished belt blank but I hand cut & dyed the walkie holder and all the smaller straps.
Leatherwork feels like a hybrid of garment sewing & woodworking & I kinda love that.

Since I'm hopping on the festival rodeo again I figured it was time to upgrade my projection gear. Making a walkie holder, some fastner straps and a belt for everything to dangle from.

Kind of a weird feeling to be reading about film when I'm currently in between cinema gigs but I'm really liking @scumbelievable.bsky.social's Black Flame so far!
The cookie is also fantastic.

What's a person with pink hair and no matching bobby pins to do when they have a fancy event coming up that requires a fancy hairstyle?

Rig up a shoebox with some wire to make a mini spray booth and go to town with some spray paint.

Cutting fringe by hand is pretty fun. Sewing this knockoff of a knockoff together BY HAND cause it doesn't fit under my sewing machine like I hoped it would? Not as much. 🤣

Maybe I'll see some familiar faces today @hotdocs.bsky.social for the Press Conference?

I got tired of flopping my cardigan around and around as I work on knitting the sleeve. I managed to work out a tidy and smart solution all by myself without having to ask AI or even Google. Imagine that!?

It's finished!!!!! I'm very sentimental so I used vintage buttons that belonged to Eddie's Babcia on it. Since the cardigan is a 1 year old size I also made a lil' elf bonnet cause newborn babies always need whimsical hats.

I'm so proud of how this is turning out! I'm also really impressed that I was able to get it 98% done (still needs buttons) before the baby shower. This is it straight off the needles. Right now it's taking a bath and then I'll block it.

Et voila! It has 2 sleeves and I just started on the cable design around the yoke. Cable knitting is way, way less complicated than I thought it would be.
January 6, 2025 at 3:23 AM
I've never knit a sweater before -- and never done cable knitting either -- but I figured trying to make one for a baby would be a good starting point. It's so small even though I'm making a 12 month old size.

It's damp and cold and I'm still recovering from bronchitis (eww) so it's the perfect day to curl up under a blanket and read through this book to figure out which cookies I'm gonna add into my Christmas baking repertoire.

I love these slippers I made SO MUCH. They're wool felt with leather soles and they're ridiculously cozy and comfortable. I got the pattern & inspo from Nicole Rudolph via: www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdLV...
NGL -- it's hard on your hands to make em though. My fingers are still sore.
