Just the forty-seven years between gigs. Saw him first as a young drama student at Earls Court London in 1978 on his Street Legal tour… his first in the UK since 1966. He was peerless.

He told me he got it from Ronnie Barker (whilst working on Porridge) who had said ‘Double egg & chips makes you funny’!
One egg… not funny.
