I drove to see mom after work. S/O to @saystay.bsky.social for chatting en route. Mom was in hospice at a little place in a rural area. There was just a crescent moon. I missed a turn. It was my parents’ 63rd anniversary. Mom was relaxed, peaceful, unaware. She died at 1:00 am. Two favorite photos.

Pure wool afghan made 60 years ago by Grandmother Cameron. Soft, warm, durable. She gave it to me because I loved it so much. I feel her love whenever the cold weather starts. She and my Grandmother Ward were safe havens of affection and love away from my parents.

Last night, Offspring rescued a birb at work.
Its temporary name is Peanut (the birb, not my offspring).
We’re off to the local birb rescue. We followed their instructions for overnight birb care. Fingers crossed.
