As it happens, I don't actually think it's the main issue for most voters, I think the economy, healthcare, transport, education etc. will come first, but it *does* add to an overall picture of government after government incapable of keeping their own promises or control of their own realm.

Yet somehow these dipshits have conspired to spin it into an electoral silver bullet in a gun they've put to their own head.

Let's be honest here, in terms of everyday impact on most British voter's lives, "the boats" probably rank somewhere below who kept the minutes for the all-party committee on the hospitality industry or some shit.

For the record, I am by no means saying you "gotta hand it" to the US Marine Corps.

Yeah, it's had a very long development since it was first released on early access, and it's come a looooong way since then. Worth checking out if you do have the time, but yeah, it's not a fast-paced game, so you do need to commit some hours to get the most out of it.

I love that there's a very quiet "Wahh!" just after the gloomp (presumably background noise?). Perfect timing.

It also helps that it's landmark-based navigation with no mini-map, and a world map that you have to draw as you explore and still doesn't actually place you on it, you need to figure it out yourself. It massively increases the sense of scale of what would be considered a fairly modest world size.

Have you ever played The Long Dark? That has a sandbox mode and an episodic story mode, and the world is a series of decently sized open areas rather than a single map. The story mode guides you along specific areas, but you can navigate through them as you choose.
