We're off to the #Cairngorms for our next trip, 14-16 Nov to Milehouse hut, Kincraig. This is a regular November destination - shorter days & mixed weather, but we've still had some great walks.
We have monthly weekend trips, non-members are welcome to come on a trip before joining the club.

We braved the chilly wind and rain last Sunday and enjoyed a walk from South Queensferry through Hopetoun estate. Good chat, great scenery and lots of fresh air!
Our next day walk is on 23 November around North Berwick. Details to follow.

We had a grand time in the Lake District this month. Not great weather, but we got out into the hills each day and enjoyed great meals too (as always on Red Rope trips!).
Our next trip is to the Cairngorms in November then we're off to the Angus Glens in December. New members welcome! 🥾

We had a very enjoyable walk up and around Dundreich in the Scottish Borders last weekend. It was overcast but dry and we had good views - and chat. Our next day walk is at the end of October, all are welcome including non-members.

In line with our social and environmental values we donate any surplus funds from our weekend trips to organisations we support. This year we've split £300 between UK-Med Gaza appeal and Assynt MRT.

What a fantastic weekend in Torridon! Despite winter weather and strong winds, we all got out - climbed mountains, went kayaking, enjoyed wild swimming and gentle shore walks. Plus great food and a warm, comfy hut at Mol Mor, thanks to @n-t-s.bsky.social. To the Lake District for our October trip.

Our next weekend trip away is 19-22 September to Torridon. We've had some fabulous meets there over the years, and some mixed weather, but it's always a beautiful place to be. Why not join us for one of our trips or a day walk? New members welcome!

We had a great weekend away in Elphin recently, to the Grampian Speleological Club hut. We enjoyed a wide range of excursions: Conival & Ben More Assynt; Cul Mor; Cul Beag; Ben Hope; a plane wreck search; a coastal walk & swim and a cycle to Lochinver.
Our next trip is to Torridon 18-21 September.

We had an interesting local day walk at the end of May, along Edinburgh's waterfront. We visited Granton walled garden, The Pitt, Lauriston Farm and Cramond Island.
Our next day walk is Sat 28 June and we're heading across to Fife - more details to follow soon. All welcome!

It was a bit wet and windy but we had a lovely time in Glen Affric, last weekend. We even saw snow on the tops of the hills! The group enjoyed high & low level walks, long cycles and two delicious curries plus crumble and cake.
Next trips are to Knoydart, Skye and Assynt. New members welcome!

What an amazing weekend we just had in Ballachulish. ❄️🔆 We did Munros, Corbetts & Grahams, and some of us even took the Corran ferry for a bike ride. Thanks to the Rucksack club for use of the Craaigallan hut!

We're off on our first trip of 2025 this weekend, back to a winter favourite at Tweedsmuir in the Scottish Borders. We've had mixed weather over the years, but we always have a good time.

Brrr! That was a chilly, but wonderful, day in the Ochils! Our first outing in 2025, Ben Cleuch from Tillicoultry. Let’s hope the sun shines on us like this all year!

It was blowing a hoolie on Caerketton hill yesterday for our final day walk of 2024 - somewhat invigorating! Great to get out together, we were grateful for the sheltered lunch spot at Mortonhall Stables. Planning 2025 walks already, keep an eye on here or FB - and do join us!

Our last trip of 2024 was to Crianlarich on the weekend before Christmas. It was very windy but the train to Bridge of Orchy and back via the West Highland Way gave us a good low level route.
Looking forward to our 2025 trips. To start, we’re off to the Borders in January.

Our next Edinburgh day walk is on Sunday 29 December, going from Caerketton Hill in the Pentland Hills to Cameron Toll in Edinburgh. It's 7.5 miles, starting 10.00 at Hillend, ending 15.00. All welcome!
