Baldur's Gate 3 fancomic. Aldiirn happily explains Myconid behaviour to Gale, "Myconids are innately pacifist because of their telepathy. If one feels pain, all in the circle do too, so hurting another is hurting oneself. The instinct against causing harm is so strong it extends to all living creatures." Lae'zel is less than impressed by the fungal fellows following the party. "Such a flaw will be their ruin," Lae'zel says. "Those who cannot defend themselves will be destroyed." Aldiirn corrects her, "They're not defenceless!" "Myconids create thralls from spore-infested corpses to defend their villages. The thralls aren't part of any circles so they're capable of attack." Lae'zel turns her small and efficient nose up at the idea. "Undead are no substitute for trained warriors." "You might rethink that when faced with a bulette thrall," Aldiirn leans in with a coy smile. Gale retakes the conversation with another burning question, "in all your bartering with myconids, what do they ask to receive in the deal?" "Various substrates," Aldiirn answers offhandedly, as a spore-infested duergar thrall shambles along the path beside group. "Tastes differ from village to village."

Despite Babs assumption that Supergirl is simply thankful for her incredible god-like powers, Supergirl is really just thankful for Batgirl's friendship. Sometimes simply feeling loved and normal is the best gift of all. Also, pie. Pie is also a pretty great gift.
