Everett Deserves a Raise Initiative 24-01, a local grassroots campaign to raise the local min wage to $20.24, went into effect July 1st! This campaign was won by the tireless work of our volunteers to empower the working class in Everett, WA.

Washington did that in 2025 without the “big, beautiful bill,” in large part because Ferguson opposed a wealth tax.

Contrast between how cops showed up at two protests today: while Seattle PD endorsed No Kings rally, which was an officially permitted event with mainstream Democratic Party support, Tukwila Police department joined forces with ICE to ensure detained immigrants were taken away.
SPD tweeted As the tail of the #NoKingsProtest makes its way into the Seattle Center we just want say thank you to the tens of thousands of peaceful people who came out today. Photo of cops with text Tukwila cops attack from the front, Homeland Security attacks from the back, gas, flash bangs, one detained briefly, water bottles thrown and DHS cops break barricade to allow several vans to escape ICE facility. Occupants unknown.
