Cos the CBC is DEEPLY nepotistic and they think Frum must be one if theirs as well… when I was a union rep there they had intergenerational managers — there was one in the French side that was the grandchild of a manager it was like their family business

I miss those days. It’s alien to me now

I miss the grittiness of the city in the 80s where punks and poets and artists and dreamers hung out on Queen West and in Kensington Market, where one could learn about food from all around the world and ride a bike helmetless and free like it was a warpony

I don’t miss the traffic or the prices or the weird energy of hustle and anxiety that permeates the place like a weird counter rhythm beneath the actual noises of frantic bustle

I really miss the fabulous places to eat and the lovely beautiful people hailing from all over the planet in a place that my ancestors knew and hunted in, trading with our Anishnaabe neighbours and side-eyeing our Wendat cousins

It was kinda cool to be in the city again. I lived there for 40 years and have completely changed my life by moving back home to the Rez so when I go there now there’s a nostalgia for the place I fell in love with and the place it has now become
