Derek, just to clarify although I'm from England, it's all international football I've a problemwith. Personally I'd rather my club win 3 points than England win the world cup. I appreciate not everybody feels the same though.

The only reason they breeze through though is the massive increase in the number of qualifying places. The World cup and the Euros are so bloated most of the games in the finals are meaningless.

International football is soulless, countries/players manipulating the system so they can play for their 'so called countries' often with very little connection other than the birthplace of some distant relative.
