I had people being a bit critical of GPS when I started using it, but my Garmin proved very handy for getting us out of potential trouble in the mountains on a couple of occasions. You need a decent map.

I'm assuming at some point it will go completely to shit, but for the moment I'm hanging on as this place hasn't fully come to life yet

Revise the people you are following there, and always keep your feed on Following rather than For You - works for me.
