The problem is not people using their phones to navigate, it's people using maps that can't be downloaded and which don't have decent coverage for areas that are not commercially profitable. Use OSM, plenty of apps now.

Still working with the data, but the fire season this year was terrible across all of Amazonia. I remember the days on the boat journey down the river with the smog from fires.

And here in Spain several people are off work in my partner's workplace because of covid - you can get flu/covid vaccinations for nothing at your local health centre.
I know several people who tested positive for COVID after the #AGU24 meeting in DC; 30k people hanging out discussing science, it’s not surprising. Get tested!
