The degree divide @kqedforum.bsky.social is a language divide. Degreed folk often speak conceptually. Working class folk respond to symbolic language. Conservatives have gradually grasped/exploited this. "Woke" versus "marginalized" amplifies a divide of "suspicion" that has always been there.

Utilities rely on dirty ‘peaker’ plants when power demand surges, but there are alternatives

A frequent sight right now: ivy-covered branches on the woodland floor, blown down by winter storms.

This is a natural process, which greatly enriches the rainforest habitat and soils.

Okay, a lot of you were interested in the story I was working on last month about why seabirds that "mate for life" get divorced... here it is. I love that my Taylor Swift reference made it all the way to publication! 🪶🧪🌎 hakaimagazine.com/news/these-b...

I did attend both of the #COP28 #climate litigation seminars, expecting to hear about their corporate climate #lawsuits. Turns out legals are a bit behind this, watching other cases & waiting for advisories. They did put out a call, though, for legal teams to start taking initiative.
