I think it's reasonable to assume the vast majority of arrivals will continue to be non-EU. Aside from Brexit, the UK's living standards are simply declining too much to flip this. Yes, policy may impact things but the point is to model what may happen if we continue on the current policy path.

So it's only 'literally in the tens of thousands' if you artificially exclude a huge chunk of migrants? As the White Paper shows, there has been a huge rise in the # of students staying on.

Yes covid caused a big skew between the 'unemployment' figure for a time but it has returned to trend. Clearly there are 'millions' who can be categorised as claiming unemployment benefits, even if 1.77m is an overstatement to some extent.

In the last few years family visas only make up 5.7% of visas issued, so the vast majority of women on a pathway to settlement are definitely not married to a British sponsor.
