purity politics is the problem not the solution

it's driving the breakdown of trust in so many ways

you don't know why you said this?

It’s remarkable how many people on here are quite willing to over look their own prejudices because it’s easier to point fingers at others.

Hey ho. That’s social media for you!

as if they used to be non-ideological and objective and pure and Good, but then some Bad People came along from somewhere else and broke it 😫
November 11, 2025 at 1:42 PM
so why assume that critics must think they are?
November 11, 2025 at 1:37 PM
it's quite remarkable how many people seem to believe that only perfect people can or should criticise politicians

that just means nobody is allowed to criticise them
November 11, 2025 at 1:35 PM
that's what they hope

but reality keeps getting in the way of that
November 11, 2025 at 1:33 PM
they're addicted to it because it's giving them reinforcement for beliefs they already had

I'm not aware of any evidence for or any discussion of the perpetrators being radicalised by social media.

The implication is consistently that Brianna was radicalised online and that that is what caused her death.

traditional British values like insisting that power and authority must be unconditionally trusted and that children should be seen but not heard are the biggest driver of harm to young people in this country

not phones

I studied physics at university and I learned that all knowledge was subjective and socially constructed, but that we could use the scientific method to establish truth to a high degree of probability and that was cool and good.

Had no idea that was woke Marxism at the time.

Still true though.

the BBC has a systemic conservative bias

everyone who claims to be unbiased does

I didn't say it was impossible to make any analogy.

I said computer 'reading' is not analogous to human reading in this context.

You've tried to make a different point about copyright here. But you don't seem familiar with how that works either.

the battle is being waged to preserve the claim of objective neutrality, and the absolute authority it is intended to confer, against the ever growing weight of evidence proving that it's bullshit
November 10, 2025 at 5:17 PM
you've walked away from personal responsibility by reducing it to a binary box ticking exercise every four years (so far)
November 10, 2025 at 5:13 PM
separated bike lanes are not the only idea I support

if it was up to me roads would be generally repurposed for train and tram lines and cars would be abolished
November 10, 2025 at 5:12 PM
that was the original intention

a playground for those who assume they have the right to treat Other humans as their personal private property
November 10, 2025 at 3:54 PM
the way a computer 'reads' a text file is not analogous to the way a human reads a document
November 10, 2025 at 3:32 PM
you believe they've got 'male souls' despite the fact that they were identified female at birth and have spent their entire lives as women
November 10, 2025 at 2:50 PM
this is on all the people who think that people in positions of power and status should never be criticised or held accountable for their actions

that's not everyone

but it does include you
