One of The Auteur's close friends, who is now a neighbor of ours, got pregnant a few months before we did and just had her baby yesterday. She had a boy, as are we; and I have to say that I'm getting bit by the baby bug once again. I want to meet our little boy. I want to see what he looks like and I want to discover his personality - how he takes after The Auteur and how he takes after me.

I just hate taking out the trash because I hate the idea of collecting it and enrolling the recycling and garbage carts down to the end of my driveway.

This is something that a fellow blogger whom I follow wrote.  I thought it was especially relevant to me, given what's going on - both with my relationship with The Kid and the recent passing of The Old Man. I didn't feel "the hole" with The Old Man; rather, I want to be sure that The Kid never feels it with me.

At the risk of sounding melodramatic, baseball is the great unifier in my family.

 I lost The Old Man two-and-a-half-months ago.  Needless to say, it has me thinking about my own mortality. A LOT lately.

 Like many, I too, am often fooled by the illusion that Facebook is socializing itself, rather than a means of socialization.

As they have gotten older, I see that my Dad and my uncle are looking more and more alike.

About 3 weeks ago, I began moonlighting at a major pharmacy/retailer.  Now, I'm sitting home after working a 7 hour shift and I'm restless because it's the first time I've really had a chance to relax. I think I'm getting addicted to work. I was pretty lucky this week in that I had three days in which I worked both of my jobs.  

I weighed myself yesterday.  198.  I literally cannot remember the last time I weighed less than 200 lbs. Thanks for stopping by Rebuilding Rob.
