About 3 weeks ago, I began moonlighting at a major pharmacy/retailer.  Now, I'm sitting home after working a 7 hour shift and I'm restless because it's the first time I've really had a chance to relax. I think I'm getting addicted to work. I was pretty lucky this week in that I had three days in which I worked both of my jobs.  

I weighed myself yesterday.  198.  I literally cannot remember the last time I weighed less than 200 lbs. Thanks for stopping by Rebuilding Rob. The pressures of teaching all caught up with me yesterday: Coming in late in the school year, getting to know the kids, their backgrounds, the pressures they fact and the expectations placed upon them - or in some cases lack thereof; report card grades coming up and preparing for my first formal evaluation all hit me with the force of a Mack truck.

It's Oscar time and time for a new tradition here at your favorite blog.  Today, I and my lovely lady-friend and esteemed colleague, The Auteur, will be making our Oscar picks for tonight's show.  We will each be posting what we think should win and what we think the Academy will pick as the winner.  Keep in mind, neither of us has seen every single movie on this list, but The Auteur has come pretty damn close.

A valuable lesson in checking your e-mail on a timely basis: This past Sunday I opened an e-mail from Jabba explaining that her dad had died that Friday night. It seemed both crazy and not at all unexpected.  He’s had health issues for some time.  I also know that the last few times I asked Jabba how he was doing, her response was “not good” though she never really elaborated.

I'm almost forty years old.  I haven't worked out for months, I don't party like I used to and I'm not getting any younger.

Christmas is a really intense time of year, ya know? They say that retailers do 40% of their annual during the 4 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Think about it: retailers stay open the other ELEVEN months of the year just to do a little more than half of their business for the year. Through our media, we are absolutely inundated with reminders of Christmas.
