The winter chill has me looking forward to warmer days in the outdoors, where I don't need 20 layers.

Looking forward to heading back to Fontainebleau in 2026. Probably should do some training, to achieve something other than just eating cheese and drinking wine...

This time last year, I was heading to New Zealand with Tourism NZ. One of the highlights was being shown around Whirinaki Forest, an ancient woodland with trees dating back 1,000 years, by Maori guide, Taz. The stories, culture, and nature are completely otherworldly!

It's difficult to visit Japan and not see at least one Tori Gate. These icons are all over the country. But if you want to see the iconic gates at Fushimi Inari in Kyoto, you need to set your alarm and get up early to beat the crowds.

Sometimes the hype around a place is real. Milford Sound in New Zealand is definitely one of those places. I was lucky enough to cruise around it and fly over it, but this shot, away from the crowds of the cruise terminal, is one of my favourites.

As a self-professed ancient history nerd and a travel lover, there are few places more amazing to me than Pompeii.

I headed here in the off-season, in November, and the weather was still great, and the crowds were way less imposing.

There's something eerily beautiful about a misty forest during the autumn and winter seasons. Newborough Forest on the island of Anglesey in Wales is a spectacular walk that leads to one of the best beaches in the area.

Sometimes you just get so lucky with angles and conditions. This photo of Mount Fuji was taken from the bullet train earlier in the year, and honestly, I couldn't believe my luck.

If you're looking for a short but picturesque hike in North Wales, head to Aber Falls. The walk from the car park to the falls is well-paved and relatively short. You can also get the Line 5 bus from Bangor to the Aber Falls Shelter for a slightly longer, car-free hike.

Autumn is a time for cosy city breaks. My pick? Stockholm.

Who doesn't love a walkable city with plenty of green and blue spaces, and a glut of spiced sweet treats? Here's my budget-friendly guide for 3 days in Stockholm.

Did you know that you can go on a boat ride on the largest glacier in Aotearoa New Zealand? The Tasman Glacier is a stunning part of Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, which is sadly decreasing in size year on year due to climate change.

This is one of the most photographed places around Lake Como. Bellagio is beautiful, but you don't need to spend a fortune staying there. Instead, stay in Lecco and do a day trip - there are plenty of ferries throughout the day!

Check out my Lake Como guides on the blog.

Did you know that there's a women-founded, social cooperative brewery in Zadar, Croatia? The wonderful Brlog Brewery has a bar with outdoor seating and an on-site shop for takeaway brews. Head down on a Friday afternoon for a brewery tour and tasting!

While most people think of the stunning mountain ranges when they think of Switzerland, the forest trails in the Region Dents du Midi are something else!

Did you know that there's a gorgeous vineyard just a 10-minute drive from the seaside city of Zadar in Croatia? The Degarra Winery specialises in fresh, local Croatian varietals. With spectacular views and huge tasting platters, it's well worth the visit.

Spending a few days in the Alta Badia region of the Italian Dolomites was an absolute dream. The town of Corvara is known for its insane mountain cycling races, including a marathon that goes across nine mountain passes and totals 138 km.

While Nara might be known for its hungry and friendly deer, the scenic temples are the real reason to visit. Even if you're not spiritual, it's impossible not to feel moved by the history, architecture, and culture.

Did you know that this ancient Greek-looking temple in Corfu Town is actually a church built in 1840? However, it's still one of the top attractions in this beautiful, historic town, which has changed hands through the Greeks, Venetians, and Brits over the years.
