Speaking as a physician, this is a terrifying concept and such a corruption of the power. 😳 Obviously really good addition to a story, but really horrifying.
Menders are not healers. Healers are bound to the Code of Chricton, sworn to aide all in time of need and never to harm a beating heart. Menders are riders. They’re only sworn to the Codex. They can as easily bring harm as heal.

Omg, Violet. You only just talked him into a relationship, and he’s already told you some of his deeper sad stories. The fact that he didn’t ask you to committ state treason and require your mother to execute you until he was willing to be committed is a good thing. This is not a crime.
