You're not annoyed that the city makes excuses for not meeting the needs of search and rescue but give $50,000 to a tennis match?

This may be well meaning, but the military industrial complex (accelerating climate change) that we uphold, esp in contributing to izrael's genocide in Palestine, & giving $50,000 to market the cup, months after they say they don't have the funds for search and rescue/fire is directly related.

Reminder that everytime a kanadian politician mentions Oct. 7th, they will never tell you the truth that izrael killed their own that day. And everyday before and after has been an ongoing massacre of Palestinians. Not one that hasn't been met with resistance.

Mental health care is almost inaccessible and stigmatized, food is out of peoples budgets, designated encampment sites in the city are being shut down one by one, and social programs are being cut. Disgusted with our colonial governments.

Homelessness has doubled and is exponentially growing, because the people in power value developers and investors and themselves more than everybody else. Everyone is disposable for private property.

Shame and hierarchal power over other people's living conditions, deeming what is best for them, only drives more trauma.

People will ALWAYS use drugs. They should have safe and clean 24/7 access to pipes, needles, substances, naloxone, and anything else that keeps drug users safe. This literally saves lives and helps people transition off drugs if THEY WANT to. We need to destigmatize drug use all together.

and change the rules even as we are all hoping they don't. ACSS are a religious abstinence based 'service' provider that are carceral and high barrier. Eyes also have to stay on the HRP.

People who are already forced to be resilient shouldn't be put under more trauma and stress to become even more resilient. There is no where for them to go and we should stay on top of this because when this leaves the news cycle and eyes aren't on ACSS, they will likely evict substance users

Harm reduction saves lives and ACSS replacing them is expected to change the modular homes to a dry site. Sure the people living there are resilient but there are only 2 other living places that have access to harm reduction supplies and dont force people to be sober and they are both full.

To the Out of the Cold Community Association staff, I'm so sorry the province has devalued and discarded of you like this. Sites like yours have done more for people than any of these politicians.

In all of this, we should also be hearing from the residents who are living there if they want to share. Their opinions are important and should be valued.
