It was a joy to celebrate the publication of "Faith and Community" with student researchers, clergy, congregants and community supporters! What an uplifting night of story sharing--community engagement is good for individuals, places of worship, and democracy. It's a message I'm happy to spread!

Excited to share some research at this upcoming community event! Despite the great ad, my son will unfortunately be at school on October 2 at noon, but I promise to feature him in photos of community engagement! Join us in person or on Zoom.

I love doing research, but getting students excited about research is really the best. So honored by this
@apsa.bsky.social Craig L. Brians Undergraduate Research and Mentoring Award. Thank you!

If you think your #APSA2024 Friday afternoon could use more religion and civic engagement content, or just more snacks, come to our panel at 2pm in PCC 202B!

In an @apsa.bsky.social first for me, I went to a political science comedy show last night! The Philadelphia School of Improv did not disappoint with comm scholar host Dr. Prateekshit "Kanu" Pandey and crew tackling the research of eminent prof. Dr. Amber Boydstun. It was a blast! #APSA24

I started a community based-research project in 2012 to learn how places of worship were engaging and to get my students experiential learning. 12 years, thousands of surveys, dozens of congregation partners, and hundreds of student researchers later, and it's one month to book publication day!

Sharing data and results at local events is one of the best parts of community-based research. Loved speaking about how political and social engagement contributes to peace in our communities for Arkansas Peace Week!

Happening now: the #APSA2023 Awards Ceremony, where I’m receiving the Distinguished Award for Civic and Community Engagement. But the strike changed my travel plans so I’m reading Harry Potter with my boy instead. Missing my colleagues and a fancy night…but not that much. 😉

The early weeks of the semester are a great time to build rapport with our students! Whether you have the mental space to put a little or a lot of effort into that, I have ideas to share (from Ch. 4 of my book, “Connecting in the Online Classroom”): www.rebeccaglazier.net/wp-content/u....
