I used Tupac’s “Brenda’s Got A Baby” to illustrate framing in my online class (is her pregnancy a personal or a community issue?). A student emailed to say they love the song and that I’m a real one for picking it. 🤩 And then they told me they are 39 and they haven’t heard the song for decades. 💀

This is such cool work. We need to know more about the consequences of polarization and ideological diversity. One finding in my book "Faith and Community" is that ideologically diverse congregations are warmer, friendly places to worship. Crazy, but true! Differences don't have to equal division.
New article out with @ruggeri.bsky.social @jayvanbavel.bsky.social @ericdknowles.bsky.social in Nature Medicine where we trace out the health implications of polarization and call for more collaboration between social science and medicine.
