It was produce swap day at the community garden and Dad and I took rhubarb. I was hoping for flowers and zucchini and got both! I also chatted to the coordinator about volunteering this year and they're keen. Very excited to spend more time there 🌱
A small posy of delicate yellow and white flowers (coriander and Queen Anne's lace). They're in an old coffee jar on the kitchen counter. Behind them you can see the hydroponic system which is currently growing tomatoes and everlastings

A gluten free pizza base in a plastic sleeve on a countertop. The brand is Senza and honestly it's the best one I've tried. Highly recommend A fully dressed pizza with tomato sauce, cheese, bacon, red capsicum and all the English spinach

Dad (retired farmer) is super into house plants and so for Christmas he gave us each a plant. He had also been babysitting 2 plants of ours, which we brought home again. So as of yesterday, we now have an extra 8 plants, and need to find space for them all.

I'm OK with this 'problem' 🌱
Four house plants of different varieties, all broad leafed plants plus a frilly leafed philodendron, sitting on a wooden shelf against a white wall. They're in different pots, including terracotta and ceramic (and one plain plastic pot, for which I'll find a better looking cover somewhere. It's bringing down the tone of the place!! Haha) Three broad leafed plants in a cardboard box. One of the plants is a white and green varigated philodendron. It belongs to Kid2 but I fully intend to take a cutting so I can try and grow it myself. (The box is from a sausage manufacturer. I think from South Australia? Not sure where Dad got the box, probably from the IGA, I guess)

Any jdeas what's happening to these broad beans? At the community garden, where they were being harvested and pulled out. Plants look otherwise healthy. Pods have black spots on them and inside they're slimy and rotting. But only where the black spots are. Rest of the pod is fine #gardening

It only took a few days and we saw the first butterflies emerge. They're known commonly as cabbage whites and are considered a pest but I feel, as someone who belongs to a species that's also often considered a pest, we shouldn't judge too harshly
A newly emerged white butterfly which is perched ever so delicately on a trumpet flower (it's a deep red colour). The butterfly's wings and body are a creamy white and it's furry little face is staring at the camera.

We discovered caterpillars in our letterbox. What could they be? We decided to leave them alone and see what happened. A few fell prey to the letterbox spider but most survived until cocoon stage
Several short but slim light green caterpillars inside a bottle green letterbox. In the corner is a spiderweb. The spider caught at least two... but then a few days later it died, so I'm not sure if the caterpillars were the best dietary choice. Could be that the spider was going to die anyway, I suppose. Almost all the caterpillars are in light brown cocoons. The cocoons harve a papery texture and are pointed at each end. They're attached to the letterbox by a kind of webbing.

Stayed home sick from work today. Tango took it upon himself to be my weighted blanket. Jarrah offered snug side support
A large tan coloured dog is lying across ny belly and legs while I recline on the couch. When I say weighted, I mean it, he weighs like 35kg. At the side, a chocolate coloured dog fits between my legs and the back of the couch.
