My experience with Tidal has been that indie artists not on there are usually on Bandcamp anyway and I can support them there. Haven’t had an issue where an artist isn’t on either yet.

Part of the deal Trump made to keep TikTok operating in the US was allowing their US division to be taken over by right wing assholes, so I’m sure that is a factor now - they’re going to force all that stuff into everyone’s feeds.

This has already been implemented for federal employees (starting with 2026 plans) based on an OEB directive that was released on 8/15. So it’s just formalizing that into law (if it gets passed), but it’s happening regardless.
