was robots.txt ever meant to stop malicious people to begin with though? it only makes sense to use it when you don't want pages being indexed for things like search engines.

Too many people have been burned by crowdfunding a project which was practically just an idea only for the founders to just vanish with the money. It's just a matter of actually having something to show before asking for crowdfunding imo.

Even if this was a real list of planned features, inline translations being in the subscription is reasonable assuming it means providing machine translations as the services which offer good enough quality translations like that would likely cost a lot.

They have stated on their roadmap that non-public content is planned, although when that might actually release doesn't seem to be known right now. docs.bsky.app/blog/2024-pr...

One would hope it is actually an opt-in option rather than an opt-out since being part of a dataset should require explicit consent.
